The first piece in the memorial collection, created in memory of my beloved Weimaraner, Pearl. Soil from our favorite Portland trail was mixed with earth pigments reflecting her soft gray coat and the surrounding flora. Within the porcelain-colored clay, the bone fragments in her ashes appear faintly, like traces of light. This work honors her spirit and the many years we spent together walking the fog-filled woods of Portland.
