Canebrake
Striking in black, white and browns. This Canebrake rattlesnake shed is another stunning specimen. The Canebrake is from the Eastern United States and is a very venomous snake. Often found in limestone crevices and pine forests. I love the idea of recreating the Canebrakes natural habitat. In this piece I incorporate foraged pine needles and mica flakes. This piece must be seen in person. The clay, the shed and the mica flakes really shine, making this a very special, one of a kind work of art.
24” x 30” Canebrake Rattlesnake shed, clay plaster, pine needles, black mica, natural soil on clay board
