During my first pregnancy I spent my days on the Oakland side of the Bay collecting these tiny oyster shells. As my family grew, I roped my two children and my husband into the collection process. Years later this piece came to life celebrating the simplicity of the oyster shell. Paired with pins and vintage sequins from the 1800s and set upon a Chinese joss paper board this piece showcases the awe of nature and the beauty in man made art.
